esd electronics, Inc proudly announces new addition to their
EtherCAT® product line; the EtherCAT® Master software - designed
with respect to high performance, small resource usage and
scalability.
EtherCAT® is an Ethernet-based fieldbus protocol optimized for
high-speed, real-time industrial control based on a Master/Slave
configuration. The EtherCAT® Master device requires only a standard
Ethernet MAC, even without dedicated communication co-processor.

esd electronics, Inc is pleased to feature the
PMC-CAN/400-4. This board has four electrically isolated CAN High-Speed interfaces.
A FPGA with optional integrated 32-bit microcontroller handles the local
data control and management, and the PMC-CAN/400-4 offers high-resolution
hardware timestamps. There is an IRIG-B interface offering inputs for analog or RS-422
IRIG-B coded signals. Both are electrically isolated. An additional microcontroller controls
IRIG-B evaluation. A Conduction Cooled version of the PMC-CAN/400-4 is also available.
CAN-PCIe/200

esd electronics, Inc is proud to announce a new product, CAN-PCIe/200, a PCI Express hardware interface for Controller Area Network (CAN) designed to the highest standards for industrial applications. This is a low cost, fully ISO 11898 compliant passive CAN interface board for PCI Express with one CAN interface (optionally two CAN interfaces) that allow data transfer rates up to 1 Mbit/s.
The CAN interfaces are electrically isolated and the bit rate can be set by software. Software drivers are available for Windows, Linux, and QNX.
| CAN, CANopen, J1939 Literature
esd electronics, Inc is also pleased to report the release of three exciting publications: |
 |
 |
 |
|
A Comprehensible Guide to J1939
by Wilfried Voss is the first work combining profound information on the
J1939 message format and network management with a high level of
readability.
SAE J1939 is a higher-layer protocol based on Controller Area Network
(CAN) and has become the accepted industry standard and the vehicle
network technology of choice for off-highway machines in applications
such as construction, material handling, and forestry machines. |
A Comprehensible Guide to Controller Area
Network
by Wilfried Voss represents the most thoroughly researched and most
complete work on CAN available in the marketplace. It includes A Brief
History of CAN, Main Characteristics, Message Frame Architecture,
Message Broadcasting, Bus Arbitration, Error Detection & Fault
Confinement, CAN Physical Layer, and more... |
Embedded Networking with CAN and CANopen
by Olaf Pfeiffer, Andrew Ayre, and Christian Keydel provides a detailed
look at both CAN and CANopen; this book examines those technologies in
the context of embedded networks. CANopen is a higher layer protocol
based on CAN that provides the means to apply CAN features to
industrial-strength applications - particularly users that demand a high
degree of safety or reliability requirements (e.g. medical engineering,
robots, lifts and transportation systems). |
