Powerful CAN Interfaces for PCs
The module CPCI-CAN/360 is a CompactPCI board in euro format. It uses a 68360
microcontroller which cares for the local CAN data management. The CAN data is
stored in the local SRAM. Security and consistency of data is guaranteed up to
1 Mbit/s.
CAN Interface
The ISO 11898 compliant CAN interface allows a data transfer rate of 1 Mbit/s. The
CAN interface is electrically isolated from the other potentials by
opto-couplers and DC/DC converters.
Software Support
Shipped with software examples in source code for DOS and Windows 3.11, Windows and
Linux are also available. The Windows 95/98 driver is realized as VxD, and drivers
for other operating systems are available as well. The firmware can be loaded
from the PCI into the Flash EPROM.
CAN Protocols
Software packages for CANopen are available for Windows NT, Windows 95/98, UNIX systems
and real-time operating systems (VxWorks, pSOS, QNX, LynxOS and e.a.)

Suitable for CANopen and J1939
The CPCI - CAN/360 is a CompactPCI board in euro format with one or two independent CAN channels using a high-end
68360 microcontroller to govern the local CAN data management. This module stores the CAN data in the local SRAM, and
guarantees data security and consistence up to 1 Mbit/s.
esd electronics designed the CPCI - CAN/360 as a high performance CPCI - CAN interface that is fully ISO 11898
compliant. This CAN interface has optocouplers and DC/DC converters to provide electrical isolation, and it allows a data
transfer rate of 1 Mbit/s.
The board is shipped with software examples in source code for DOS and Windows 3.11; software drivers are available for
Windows, Linux, and other operating systems with the Windows 95/98 driver as a VxD. The firmware can be loaded from the
PC into the Flash EPROM. Software packages for CANopen are available from esd electronics for Windows NT, Windows
95/98, UNIX, and real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, pSOS, QNX, and LynxOS.
