Powerful CAN Interface for Compact PCI Systems
The module CPCI-CAN/331 is a CompactPCI board in euro format
using a 68331 microcontroller that cares for the local CAN data management. The
CAN data is stored in the local SRAM with security and consistency guaranteed
up to 1 Mbit/s.
CAN Interface
The fully ISO 11898 compliant CAN interface allows a data
transfer rate of 1 Mbit/s and is electrically isolated by optocouplers and
DC/DC converters.
Software Support
There are drivers available for Windows NT/200/XP, Windows
95/98/ME (realized as VxD), VxWorks, QNX4, Linux, and Solaris operating
systems. The firmware is loaded from the PC into the Flash EPROM.
CAN Protocols
Software packages for CANopen or DeviceNet are available for
Windows, UNIX, and real-time operating systems like VxWorks and LynxOS.

esd electronics’ CPCI - CAN/331 module is an intelligent CompactPCI - CAN Interface in Euro format using a 68331
microcontroller for the local CAN data management. This module stores the CAN data in the local SRAM, and guarantees
security and consistency of data up to 1 Mbit/s. The fully ISO 11898 compliant CAN interface allows a data transfer rate of
1 Mbit/s and is electrically isolated with optocouplers and DC/DC converters.
Software drivers are available for Windows NT/2000/XP and Windows 95/98/ME (the Windows 95/98/ME driver is a VxD),
and drivers for other operating systems (e.g. VxWorks, QNX4, Linux, Solaris) are available upon request. The firmware is
loaded from the PC into the Flash EPROM. There are available software packages for CANopen or DeviceNet, as well as for
Windows, UNIX systems and real-time operating systems such as VxWorks and LynxOS.
