CompactPCI Board

The CPCI-WLAN2 is a CompactPCI board in 3U format. It is equipped with up to two WLAN modules with Atheros chips designed to realize compact WLAN solutions with approved and calibrated components compliant to regulatory standards.

IEEE 802.11b/g Modules

Equipped with reverse SMA antenna connectors for the main and auxiliary antennas at the front panel (full antenna diversity), the CPCI-WLAN2’s on-board WLAN modules offer a transmitting power of 18 dBm on the 2.4 GHz frequency range, and support for hardware coding for Wi-Fi protected access (WPA) and IEEE 802.11i standard.

Optional Bluetooth Interface

esd electronics offers a Bluetooth 2.0 interface with another reverse SMA antenna connector as an additional option.

LED Display

Eight LEDs in the front panel display the status of the board.

Software Support

The WLAN modules work with standard drivers of Windows (XP, 2K, ME, 98 SE and NT 4.0) and Linux 2.4.2x / 2.6.x. For customers using VxWorks, esd offers the standard VxWorks “Wireless Ethernet Driver.” The optional Bluetooth module offers two modes: Option one builds a wireless serial communication with a Serial Port Dongle using the module as a Serial Port Emulator with standard system drivers. Option two offers Bluetooth communication via the HCI firmware with the standard Linux Bluetooth Protocol Stack only.
