PowerPC Device

The EPPC-405-UC is a stand-alone PowerPC in a slim line aluminum case without fan cooling. The powerful IBM PPC405EP with 133 to 266 MHz enables a performance of up to 375 MIPS. The board is equipped with up to 64 Mbyte SDRAM, 1 Mbyte NOR-Flash, up to 128 Mbyte NAND-Flash and a CompactFlash slot.

Network Interfaces

The EPPC-405-UC comes with an ETHERNET interface for 10 Mbit/s and 100 Mbit/s networks. It is accessible as 10/100BaseT via RJ45 connector in the front panel. The EPPC-405-UC provides 2 CAN fieldbus interfaces based on SJA1000 CAN-controllers with transfer rates up to 1 Mbit/s. esd electronics, Inc. designed the EPPC-405-UC according to ISO 11898 with opto-isolation, Mini-Combicon connectors, 2 USB host interfaces and 3 serial interfaces (two RS-232 and one RS-485).

Software Support

The NOR-flash memory carries a universal boot loader (U-Boot) that enables the EPPC-405-UC to boot various operating systems from network, on-board Flash, or CompactFlash directly supporting Linux and VxWorks and others on request. esd electronics supports on board peripheral drivers. The EPPC-405-UC supports higher layer protocols such as CANopen as well as an available on-board web server. With the optional IEC61131-3 programming and runtime system CoDeSys, the EPPC-405-UC acts like a PLC. Please ask for our CoDeSys flyer.
