PowerPC Device

The EPPC-405-HR is a stand-alone PowerPC^TM in a small top hat rail mounting enclosure without fan cooling. The powerful IBM PPC405EP runs with 133 MHz clock rate. The board is equipped with 32 Mbyte SDRAM, up to 8 Mbyte Flash. LEDs display the modules status.

Network Interfaces

The EPPC-405-HR comes with an ETHERNET interface for 10 Mbit/s and 100 Mbit/s nets. It is accessible as 10/100BaseT via RJ45 connector in the front panel. Equipped with a CAN interface based on the SJA1000 CAN-controller with transfer rates up to 1 Mbit/s, designed according to ISO 11898, and opto-isolated, the EPPC-405-HR has a serial RS-232 interface for terminal, and debugging is accessible via a RJ12 connector.

Software Support

The standard operating system is Linux, but VxWorks BSP is available as well. Other real time operating systems are available on request. With the IEC61131-3 programming and runtime system, CoDeSys, the EPPC-405 acts like a PLC. Please ask for our CoDeSys flyer.

The EPPC - 405-HR is a powerful stand-alone IBM PPC405EP with 133 MHz clock rate in a small top hat rail mounting enclosure without fan cooling. The EPPC – 405-HR is equipped with 32 Mbyte SDRAM, up to 8 Mbyte Flash, and LEDs to display the module’s status.

esd electronics has designed the EPPC - 405-HR with an ETHERNET interface for 10 Mbit/s and 100 Mbit/s nets that is accessible as 10/100BaseT through a RJ45 connector in the front panel. The EPPC - 405-HR also has a fully ISO 11898 compliant, electrically isolated, CAN interface based on the SJA1000 CAN controller with transfer rates up to 1 Mbit/s. A serial RS-232 interface is accessible through a RJ12 connector for terminal and debugging.

Although the EPPC – 405-R uses Linux as its standard operating system, VxWorks BSP and other real time operating systems are available upon request. With the IEC61131-3 programming and run-time system CoDeSys the EPPC - 405 acts like a PLC.
